Test clip of gtk-recordMyDesktop

This is a test video of my desktop using gtk-recordMyDesktop.
You can install it by running the following command: sudo apt-get install gtk-recordmydesktop. Make sure you have the universe repositories enabled in your ubuntu sources.
The video was originally recorded in OGG format but was converted to MP4 to upload to youtube.

Welcome to my blog. My name is Michael SanAngelo and I’m 18 years old. I live in the states and this blog will feature Linux stuff. I enjoy playing with Linux though I use windows sometimes. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty in Linux but I tend to get impatience when things go wrong and I’m not afraid to ask it it does.

I currently use Ubuntu Linux 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) as my primary os and Windows XP Home Edition SP2 for gaming and iTunes. I’m not a heavy gamer but I do like to play one every now and then. People have told me that Ubuntu can manage my music library for my iPod but I figure since its already established, why not just leave it to iTunes. The hard drive is already shared between Windows and Ubuntu and is formated to NTFS for windows, helps reduce the fragmentation but is still some that develops. It’s no biggie.

I consider Ubuntu to be the best and most simplest OS I’ve ever used and it doesn’t constantly bug me about every little thing. I’ve been running through several hardware issues but I can’t really do much about it at the moment. I have no money. :(

On the bright side, I have windows if Ubuntu starts to slow down and Ubuntu if windows wants to have a fit. Both OS are good and both have their strong points. There have been several time where both OSes start to slow down and crash one me, that is just an indicator that I need to shut her down and let her cool off.

If you ask me what OS I’d recommend, it’d be Ubuntu. A ready made OS with all the necessary applications at your disposal. Connect it to the web and enable all branches of the Ubuntu Repositories and you’ll have access to just about anything you’ll ever need. The repository is just a LARGE database of applications, libraries, tools, etc. The Ubuntu teams keep everything updated and trouble free. If you are a Windows user, you know you have to Google around to search for your app. Even if it’s for downloading Firefox, which happens to be the default for most Linux distros. I can’t tell you what its like in the Mac world except for the fact that everything is expensive and built to run.
